10:30am: {all} Yay.

I got permanently banned when I decided to show them what trolling was really about. ;) I'm cool. Yeah, man. Definately cool. \m/

I'm starting to know what I'm doing in the webcomic. I finally figured how to make word bubbles (maybe a tutorial on that should be added to my site?) and I think my drawings are becoming a bit more consistent. And I think I'm funny. Because people certainly seem to think so :p

Ah, well. Wonder exactly how famous I could get... *daydream* And no, I have no desire to be "Penny Arcade" famous... and not "Megatokyo" famous either. I juat want a largeish group of people that enjoy what I do. n.n

Oh well... back to studying art styles. I'm thinking of going for a goth-surreal-whatever kinda deal. Like Escher and Giger...? n.n I'll figure it out.

5:11pm: {all} Bwahahaha!

This is fucking great!

I'm finally temp-banned from the Megatokyo forums. After six or so months of trolling, I've finally been spoken to and I've been suspended. Yay!

And why, exactly have I been banned? For posting this image ( http://ashieneko.f2o.org/forum/largo800x600.jpg ) in a wallpaper request thread and stating it took a very long time and I was proud. I thought it was a fucking beautiful joke, but apparently the moderators didn't. Apparently it was a flame, so they decided to temp-ban me because it was "the last straw".

Oh well. Now I have two days where I can actually get stuff done. x)

2:03pm: {all} Mrf.

I watched Chobits on Friday. It was stupid. But I had a nice time downtown on an actual date. To think, I've been going out with the same guy for 5 years but we never really went and hung out in town together. o___o Was nice. And my other friend was there just to make sure he didn't try anything tricky. xD

But I did get bitten. that was interesting. :B

2:40pm: {all} Windows sucks.

It's been running very slowly lately.... and today, I figured out why.

I have four trojans. ._.

Every time I try to get rid of them with Norton, my computer freezes. It says they're in windows/temp, but I JUST deleted them and they came back anyway :| And they're in quarantine, too... Sigh. Anyone know what to do?

Oh, and the webcomic is up if you don't know already. http://animalanarchy.keenspace.com/

10:18am: {all} Yay.

I've got a mild fever. I feel like crap. I was going to work on the webcomic today but I just don't feel happy and shiny enough to write funny stuff.

Oh well. Back to sleep I go -- my eyes are burning.

7:26am: {all} Keenspace account

The form has been sent -- now I have a week to get a few extra strips and a site layout ready. CSS is a pain in the ass when you're just learning... and I want to code it myself. But I suppose if I have to, I'll have to leech the code from http://www.go-girly.com/ , because that's almost exactly what I want... :\

Oh, and yesterday I saw a ring-necked pheasant in my yard. It was cool 'cos it was eating stuff and I watched it for, like, 10 minutes n.n

8th April 2004

2:20pm: {all} Just lettin' y'all know...

I've started work on the webcomic. It will be called Animal Anarchy ('cos "Amuse Me!" was taken) and I'm probably going to get a Keenspace account in a week (the ticket's going through the system now)

I'm not promising genuine LOL funnyness... subtle humor is more my style. But I do hope that the viewers will enjoy the short "journalistic" story-things I'll be working on.

The first "story" shows Sian (the main character), who is trying to get a job. Afterwards, her friends will be introduced.

It will update once a week.

So... Here's wishing me luck. :)

5:00pm: {all} Whee.

We just had a giant-ass rainstorm. The basement flooded. And no matter how much the sump pump works it's pointless because there's a freaking hole in the wall just where it's hard to get to (in a corner behind a table a bit) Hooray.

Since the computer is down in the basement, I had to shut it off. Which really sucked. So today, I moved it upstairs into my brother's room like I planned. Right now I'm just waiting to see how much trouble I get into, since my dad didn't tell me I could. But hey, I'm happy because now I don't have to work in a depressing, dirty, spider-filled basement all day. And my dad won't have to yell down the stairs when he wants me to do something. And so on, and so forth. It's a win-win situation.

SEMI-IMPORTANT. My webcomic thing is starting Monday, God-willing. I've got the first one lined up, now I just have to make a nice comic-site layout. Skree!

31st March 2004

11:44am: {all} Got a few things....

OK, first: Monday, my friend and I cleaned my brother's old room and the patio next to it. We rearranged everything and put a big table in there, so I could put the computer in there... but when my dad got home he was all like WTF???? and didn't want me to move it. It pisses me off... I mean, if anything it's a win-win situation. I don't have to "live" in the basement and he can monitor me if he wants (cos everyone knows teenagers like teh pron, lollolololololoz. ._. ) As far as I know we were gonna move the computer into there anyway and clean out and finish the porch... so I don't understand what the problem is...

But at least I have a cool art space now.

Secondly, I think I'm going to change my art style. I'll still draw furries, of course, but I think I'm going to add a touch of H.R. Giger's (concept artist of Alien; http://www.hrgiger.com/ ) style. You know, dark art. And I swear to god, if anyone looks at my new style and calls me Goth, they'll have one more hole in their behind. x(

5:18pm: {all} My friend and I went up to the mall today. In the bookstore I found a publication of Kurt Cobain's journal(s)... I'm not a big fan of Nirvana but it just seemed like an interesting read...

And so far, it is.

Oh, and if you think you know me, take this quiz. http://silverhair.friendtest.com/

11:51pm: {all} Hmm, it appears my friend's suspicions were correct.

The guy ended up being a retard after all. :| Apparently he likes to talk to girls and consequently creep them out. His parents (or some relative) own a nearby bagel shop.

Anyway... as for the beach restroom thing... according to my dad, no one uses them because they're afraid to. 'Cause, as he said, they smell like really dirty bathrooms and you never know what's on the other side. Like pedophiles.

So...uh.. instead of reassuring me, he's succeeded in making me more paranoid. Maybe they locked it because someone DID find a skeleton and they just didn't feel like removing it... But...uh...I think I definately will be avoiding that park for a long time... x(

Also, no digital art this week. I let my friend borrow my tablet in exchange for her camera. It's a neat tradeoff, but I dunno. A week might be too long. o-o

26th March 2004

1:06pm: {all} Well. o-o

Last night was very interesting. And definately not in a good way.

My friend and I went to downtown Newburyport again. First we stopped by at Starbucks to get our generic ice-blended coffee drink-things. We sat down at a table and talked about important things like gay marriage and church+state for a few hours.

Well it just so happens that during those few hours, some guy sat down in a table near us, apparently waiting for his friends to show up. When we left the guy told us that it's great for young people like us to be talking about important issues.

Needless to say, we were proud of ourselves.

We decided to go to the playground at the beach next. By this time it was getting a bit dark. We had to go to the bathroom a bit later. Since there was a building nearby that was used as a public bathroom, we decided to check if it was open... it wasn't, but my friend noticed (while she was trying to stupidly open the door) that the window had been smashed open. Since it was kind of cold, we figured that maybe a bum broke in for shelter... or worse, that said bum hadn't been able to get back out and died in there. We left immediately, especially since a rather suspicious smell similar to barf was coming from the general area.

Then, we went to Richdale's (a convenience store) and got a bit of dinner. We sat out by the waterfront and we saw several people walking down there. We said hi to a few. Then we went to sit on the stones around the water fountain (which does not operate until Summer).

While we were sitting there talking, some guy walked by. He was dressed in black and wore chains. He came out of a dark alley-thing a short distance away and met with his friend. Then his friend left and he walked over to us. I didn't keep my eyes off him and neither did my friend. He talked really slowly and sounded like he might have been concealing his voice... also had a bottle in his hand that may have had alcohol in it. He asked my friend's name and where she was from (Amy from Gloucester -- lies!) but he didn't ask me. Instead, he looked at me, said "Well, bye." and ran off.

We ran too.

We got in the car and drove around the block. We saw the guy again and it looked like he was going to turn back to the square with the fountain to maybe get us from a different direction... We're probably going to stop by the police station today to see if the guy has a file, or something of the sort. Maybe our experience can help track him down.

But anyway, after that we were just too creeped out to do anything but go home. We stayed at her house until 11 PM or so an' I gave her a basic tutorial on how to use the GIMP. And it was fun.

So... back to FFTA I go.. and shortly I'll be grocery shopping with my friend and continuing the GIMP lesson. Oh, and I'll be borrowing her digital camera too x)

6:09pm: {all} Meh.

Well, the update took about a century longer than it should have. Manually editing roughly 100 pages so they all have the same header/CSS thingy is so not fun. Not to mention it was a slow upload and I had to add 5 art things and I was worried that I'd screwed up somehow because the layout wasn't loading right away...

But it's all good, I guess... the site's all cool now or something. Go check it out if you have the time/interest/whatever. Just click on the mookitty on the sidebar, there...

22nd March 2004

12:05pm: {all} I love cooking.

I'm by no means an expert, but I certainly love to impress people with family recipies and the like. I like to make simple things taste good... so they're easy to make and I don't get frustrated if I don't get it right. And I can impress my friends with it, too. :D

I don't quite have meat down, though... My burgers tend to be a bit undercooked and sometimes my chicken is still a little pink, but somehow I made a perfect roast last week.

My favorite thing to make is spaghetti with cheese-sauce. It's a family recipe (probably) that is a million times better than that Kraft shit. All it is is Cabot extra-sharp cheddar, milk, water and salt and pepper. Oh, and flour for the rue.

I just made the cheese-noodles... but it's too bad that I'm not actually hungry right now... but we'll just see about that in a few hours. :)

And I'll be updating my site today, now that f2o.org is finally back up. I've got a new layout that's much quicker to load and has a slightly larger active space. And I have 5 or so new drawings to post, too. I hope it'll make up for a complete lack of updates this month.

11:31am: {all} Bleargh.

I just responded to a comment on the Furtopia forums. The topic was effectively "Tennessee officials are fucktarded for wanting to ban gays".

Azura_Gerbil wrote:
They should ban stupid people from breeding.

I agree, but there are many flaws in such a law. How will we tell who is stupid? Pulling names out of a hat? No, you'd probably be picking a few smart people off too. Judging on their grades in school? Hell, I failed miserably in school and there's no denying that I actually use my brain.

So how do we find out? Why, an IQ test of course! :D

Massachussetts has a standardized test called the MCAS. It's taken in 4th, 8th, and 10th grade. The first two times are practice and the third allows you to get your high school diploma. If you fail the third, you have to retake it in Spring. Failing that, you have to keep taking it until your senior year, and if you still fail you get a Certificate of Attendance. This kind of system is exactly what I think of when I hear "IQ Test". Allow me to use my own experiences with this system and apply it to the question at hand.

Writing test questions like this can be a difficult thing. You want as many kids as possible to pass because that makes your state look good. It makes people think you have a lot of smart kids in your schools. At the same time, you need to weed out the stupid ones (but the retards can't fail, either, because that's descriminatory!). So what do you do?

Instead of actually improving the schools to increase the collective intelligence output, the teachers are given a guidebook that effectively "teaches to the test" -- in other words, they change technique instead of actual curriculum and the test dumbs itself down. There are also remedial classes a potential failure can take in order to improve test-taking skills.

So basically... if everyone passes, the parents are happy and don't shove burning coals down the administration's collective throat. And the school looks real good, too.

Results can be skewed by only publishing numbers. The MCAS people do not give you a copy of the test you took when you recieve your results -- it's simply "pass or fail". Doing this allows you to change numbers depending on your political agenda -- a wealthy school with a new building might appear "smarter" than a poorer area with an older building, instead of actually looking at the curriculum. But that's a story for another day.

So, with that little example in mind... would a system to ban stupid people from breeding (or anything) like this actually work? And if not, what would work?

And do you know what everyone's going to say if a bill like this were actually proposed?

"That's descriminatory!"
