8:30pm: {all} Woah, woah, where did all this emo come from? Not on!

edit: meh, it's not so emo. Except for two specific individuals, it seems.

3:25pm: {all} I am slowly going through the site and fixing things, rearranging parts, and so on. Please bear with me. :P

Updates as they happen:
  • The front page now uses more css and is dynamically compressed by the server, reducing the download size by about 60%
  • Dynamic compression now applies to all journal pages. My main journal page, for instance, reduced from 15kb to 5kb.
  • Same to most main pages - recent, interests, memberlist, links
  • Optimised the database and promised myself to do it more often (ha)
  • Changed the 'sabu production' message. Really, that's just egotistic. I reversed the mood.
  • Each main page said 'total 15 entries' or something equally wrong. It now displays the correct number.
  • Rather than saying 'next 15' and 'previous 15', it's a bit more relevant with 'newer' and 'older'

2:23pm: {all} It was way too early in the morning (read: 11:30am) and some salesperson from some real estate agent knocked at my door. As I clambered over and began to open the door, dressed in.. well, clothes I would not usually go out and about in, I could not resist hunching over and intoning, as I pulled open the large wooden entrance,
"As of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door"
I guess you had to be there. Or me.

10:51pm: {all} For those who haven't quite picked this up, I have been far to busy to do anything with tthe site. It's probable evident in that the last main update was in November. So here's the details, quick and easy.

Employment: I'm now programming a top secret multimillion dollar project for some company involving electronic equipment. The multimillion part, however, remains hidden.

Education: I just started University and the homework is being applied by the bucket.

And.. well, that's all I need, really. When I chance apon some free time (read: in four years, when I've finished this uni course and I'm a full-on teacher, I might have a lunch break or two) I'll see what I can do about recoding parts of this site. The things I've learned since then, man, I could double the speed.

More as it happens.

9:56am: {all} I am aware of the recent upsurge in activity relating to the arrival of one self proclaimed 'anti fur' who has arisen under the nickname [Anastu]

Although their initial post may offend you, feel free to notce that the particular user has not made a single sign of activity since then, and might have been a temporary jolt of uncreativity.

If they do decide to return, rest assured that periodic backups are made of the FurJournal database and, er, 'administrative action' will be taken should they decide to cause trouble.

2:38am: {all} Over the course of my computing experience there have been three major catastrophes caused by me. namely:
  • Deleting the entire 'windows' section of the registry.
  • Installing a large norton product
  • Upgrading to FireFox 1
This is seriously a bad move. It fails to read my bookmarks, the menu becomes unusable once you click 'customise toolbar', all my extensions are obsolete, it seems to have lost all of its tabbed browsing support (or specifically, I can't make any link open in a new tab)

So what did I do? Shove all the old firefox files back in their place. Completely replaced the new ones. Now all I have to do is reinstall a few extensions, get that tabbed browser support, and get firefox to figure out which version it is.

What a night.

[Updated to yell: WHY WON'T ANYTHING OPEN IN A NEW TAB/WINDOW?]
[Updated to calm down: ok, so I uninstalled the whole shebang, reinstalled and to my surprise all the extensions remain. All is well.]

4:23pm: {all} It's been pouring rain today.

So, this is what I did: turned off all the lights, turned off the television, everything. I sat myself next to a window with my dog and played Hali's (Matthew Ebel's) "Rain".

The moment it ended, the rain stopped outside. As I type this, I can hear the last remaining thunder releasing as the clouds drift away towards the north west.
