I've actually gone and gotten myself a http://www.livejournal.com/users/hukkax/">LiveJournal, now that they're giving them without codes. I'll probably be using the LJ for now while FurJournal evolves. I think.
26th December 200310:40pm: {all} OMG TEH XMAS is over and the fridge is full of good foods. Brief summary of gifts I got: Nokia 3310 cell phone (my mom's old phone, but beats the one I used to have before), a shitload of candy, money (110 euros with a bit more to come later), clothes (of course) and a bottle of white wine from my dad (in a cool green cat-shaped bottle. Dad said he would've gotten me a wolf-shaped one had there been one). Probably all of the money I got for Christmas will go towards getting an ADSL connection...
Spent the Christmas eve at my dad's place. It was pretty fun despite having a bit of a flu. My tooth (or gum, really) has been aching quite a bit lately as I'm getting a wisdom tooth there. It hurts while eating, which sucks especially as we have all kinds of good foods in here right now that we don't often have.
Other than the Christmas stuff, I've been just coding mostly. I think I managed to stabilize ComixLeech now so that there's no serious bugs in there anymore. Now it's just the tedious stuff like rewriting the expression parser and optimizing the connection to the server and rearranging the window layout and stuff... Speaking of tedious stuff, I need to start working on Yiff DJ so I can get the current version past alpha stage. And no one's submitted any kind of bug reports about the current public alpha yet...
Edit: ComixLeech updates. Rewrote the expression parser (now there is no possibility for an infinite loop anymore and it supports left and right padding of any modifier). Added a "Comic Info" page. Fixed another freeze bug and fixed the $ext modifier, yay! Now the image viewer is pretty cool too: it can be drag-scrolled with the mouse (like in ACDSee and such) and zoomed (with various zoom qualities). Mouse wheel will browse images, or zoom if shift is pressed while wheeling. There's also a small pane that will show/hide the leftmost area of controls, freeing the screen space for the image viewer and list.
21st December 20033:19am: {all} I'm working on ComixLeech, a program for... downloading webcomics. I realize it's a stupid name, I'll think of a better one later. Anyway, the program should be able to download pretty much any webcomic with sensible filenames (names that have either a date or a running number as part of them). It has a preview window so you can read the comic while it's downloading. You can tell it on which days the comic appears, and you can have it download all comics between any two dates (or numbers). The downloaded comics can be organized in a number of ways. Most of the basic functionality is now done, now it's just the matter of adding support for comic "presets" and fixing a few bits in the download stats dialog. This program was Tsr's idea initially.
18th December 20032:30am: {all} My problem is that I'm [expletive] lazy and always leave things till the last moment. Case in point: I have a shitload of Javascript assignments (and other things, which I'm too late to begin doing now) to do until Friday, when the Christmas holiday begins. Thus I'll be spending this night and tomorrow day doing school stuff, provided I can stay awake considering I haven't had enough sleep lately.
Also, I forgot to do a tune for this year's http://www.zoo-terraristik.de/christmas/">Christmas SID compo and I'm probably too late now considering I don't really have anything very good to submit.

16th December 20039:40pm: {all} Weekend was pretty fun - originally we were supposed to get drunk with kaemae and Tsr (non-furry friends) on Friday, but kaemae was too lazy to come. But on Saturday, http://www.furnation.com/jpkwolf/">Jari (another FinnFur) and http://users.utu.fi/vloelo/index.shtml">Tsr got here and we got quite drunk. Before we went to sleep, Jari wanted to do some http://www.hukka.furtopia.org/temp/yiffme.txt">furry rap lyrics in Finnish. Had a bit of a hangover, but at least I managed not to puke - something I've only done once (in relation to getting drunk). Monday I mostly just coded a sine scroller with a starfield for Yiff DJ's About dialog (hey, I was bored), after which I tried to learn to draw arms and legs. Today I've been doing nothing of note. And that's all I have to say about that.

9th December 20037:39pm: {all} Nice, apparently this site works just fine with the Links text mode browser too, props for that. Anyway, for the casual reader that probably won't know me, my site is at http://www.hukka.furtopia.org/ and has some of my software and music as well as a bit of outdated info about me. I was writing an update to my About Me and Music pages earlier today but didn't finish them yet so they're not up just yet. I'll probably wait till I get ADSL (which should be this month, hopefully) before uploading any new music, as uploading large files with a 64K ISDN sucks. Now it's about 2:40 AM, so I'll try to doodle something for a bit and then hit the bed...
