Errm... right. I have to decide by tomrrow whether I want another operation to remove/reduce the scar on my leg. I'm fairly sure I'm going to pass on it though, firstly because the scar's usually only uncovered when I'm in bed (I hate wearing shorts), secondly because I think I've cost the NHS enough money as it is and lastly because I've already had 3 operatons on it and to be quite frank I'm sick of them. If there's a practical reason for having it done such as increased mobility or something (I can't run anymore) then I'll probably go through with it, but otherwise I see no point in it.

As I see it there are 2 reasons to get the operation.

1. if your range of motion is hampered

2. if you are self-conscious about it

Either would be a good reason to have the operation. You sound depressed in your post, don't let that rule your decision. You need to get a clear mind and make the right decision for YOU, long term.

I understand what you are going through. A very good friend of mine slid his motorcycle under a truck and messed up one leg pretty bad. If you need to talk about it let me know, I'm all ears.
The post above? Marvellous. Absolutely marvellous.
