I am -so sick- of people telling me to smile.
My grandmother was like 'Are you sad? What's so wrong?'
'Nothing.'
'Then why not smile.'
'Because I'm not happy.'
'So you're sad?'
'No, I'm neither. Why show emotion if I don't feel it?'
We went in circles for a while...
Then mom was like, 'smile more!' when we were in teh car later. And I told her, damnit, I'm NOT a happy person! I don't GET happy! I'm not happy at home.
Hell, it's called fucking depression. When something isn't really fucking awesome, I'm not a happy type of person. I don't smile without a fucking need.
Goddamnit Leroy! *fist shake* I blame you!
Or...something.
I just wish people would stop telling me to smile. Truth be told, I WASN'T happy about visiting grannie. I really don't like seeing her, she's so...I dunno. Meh.
-sigh- Stop telling me to smile. It gets...annoying. Ad then I smile less.
Just leave me alone. If I'm smiling, talk to me. If not, well, you better have a DAMN good reason for bugging me about it. Previous Next

 | Posted on 11/03/2005 Iieee! I know -exactly- how you feel. I'm constantly getting a lecture about me not smiling and if I'm not smiling then surely I must be miserable and something is terribly wrong. That's the wrong thing to do to use emotionally/mentally (beep)ed up people. Don't tell us to SMILE! It just makes it worse!
And nobody ever understands! It's like "Well, I WAS fine until you told me to SMILE!"
They never learn.
And how come it's always the females that are told to smile but you never hear the males being told that? That's my observation anyway.
